Italy, Bulgaria, and Taiwan, if it weren’t for jazz music, the three musicians of the trio would have never known each other. Fortunately, their paths cross in the Milan Conservatory. Since its founding, Subconscious Trio has participated in numerous concerts, such as  Gezmataz 2022, Lucca Jazz Donna 2022, Empoli Jazz Festival 2022, Firenze Jazz Festival 2022, Milestone, Tunnel (Vienna), Zwe (Vienna), Jazz à la Petite France 2023, Jazz all’Aquila 2023, Chamber Stage Plovdiv 2023 (Bulgaria), Wien Kultursommer 2023, Wenshui Arts Center (Taipei, TW), WiJazz Records (Kaoshiung, TW), Istituto Italiano di Cultura a Taiwan.

About Water Shapes

The eight pieces of the debut album of Subconscious Trio, “Water Shapes”, are written and arranged by the three musicians. The album was recorded in Milan in July 2021. 

“Water Shapes” is inspired by the multitude of facets and shifts in one’s personality. Intuitive contemplation; energetic extroversion and gentle moments of solitude; wildness and flexibility – just like water’s many facets. The trio’s music is a colorful combination of various influences. They always search for balance: from traditional to more contemporary approaches; from art pop music nuances, to the eastern musical heritage – Bulgarian, Taiwanese, Carnatic and Italian traditional music, an object of exploration in the musical odysseys of all three musicians. 

The members of the trio also aim to express their perspectives regarding matters such as transcultural exchange, equality and diversity – in art as much as in life. The statement is clear: when a diverse, but similarly minded group of musicians gets together, the result is a surprising and tasteful mix, which will not leave you indifferent
